We’re dedicated to creating a healthier NHS and improving health outcomes for all. But we also believe that our role as a healthcare consultancy goes beyond just providing expertise and solutions. It extends to making a positive impact on our communities and environment through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

To this end, we have established a CSR committee that actively engages our employees. As a committee, we regularly evaluate and identify the most effective ways to enhance our positive impact on both local communities and the environment. By leveraging our expertise, embracing new ideas and fostering partnerships, we aim to create lasting change that positively influences the health of individuals, communities and our environment.

NHS NET ZERO ROADMAP

In July 2022, the NHS became the first health system in the world to embed net zero into legislation as part of the Health and Care Act 2022. It has set itself two ambitious targets:

• For the emissions it controls directly, it aims to reach net zero by 2040 with an ambition to reach an 80% reduction by 2028 to 2032.

• For the emissions it can influence, it will reach net zero by 2045 with an ambition to reach an 80% reduction by 2036 to 2039.

The organisation has also set out a roadmap for NHS suppliers to reach net zero by 2030, albeit with some caveats for smaller and medium-sized companies. You can read more here.

We are committed to reaching net zero as quickly as we can and fully support the NHS’s plans to go green. Our co-working space Work.Life is a B Corp-registered company and we are always looking at ways in which we can be more sustainable – from cycle to work schemes to prioritising digital over paper.

UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

The United Nations has 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ranging from eradicating poverty and hunger to affordable and clean energy and creating sustainable cities and communities which aim to improve the world for everyone.

We have decided to focus on three SDGs that closely align with our values and vision, and where we feel we can make a real, sustainable difference:

• good health & wellbeing
• quality education
• and climate action.

Thanks to our close working relationship with the NHS and our partnership with NHS Charities, as well as our upcoming plans for a training platform and our ongoing sustainability journey, we know we can take tangible action on each of these.
